The participants were international students from partner universities who are currently completing an academic semester at HTSI. They were presented with the challenge of proposing a product, service or experience to Hotel AC Victoria Suite that can make the establishment more accessible and inclusive for families travelling with children with autism.

The lecturer noted that, according to CEHAT, a wage gap of about 20% exists in the Catalan tourism sector (the general wage gap in Catalonia is 30%).

HTSI WELCOMES INCOMING STUDENTS
With a whole range of activities, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Sant Ignasi (URL) is welcoming incoming students who will take part in different tourism courses from the Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management this second semester.
More specifically, it is welcoming 23 students from 9 different countries, including the Netherlands, Argentina, the United States, Japan or Hungary. These students come from partner universitieswith which HTSI has collaboration agreements, and who help to promote the internationalization of the School: one of our main strategic goals.
Emma Erickson of the University of San Francisco explains: “the reason I decided to come was HTSI’s hospitality program, highly recommended by my university and by two of my friends from San Francisco, who studied here in the past. HTSI STUDENTS TRAVEL TO DUBAI AND ABU DHABI TO INTERVIEW FOR HOTEL INTERNSHIPS
HTSI organized a professional trip with 2nd-, 3rd– and 4th-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management to get to know hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The main goal of the trip was to organize a meeting between HTSI students and the tourism and hotel sector of the United Arab Emirates to get to know internship opportunities.Read more

INNOVATIVE DESIGN THINKING METHODS: AN ACTIVITY FOR HTSI STUDENTS
On February 25, the Factory 103 coworking space hosted a session on ideation, an innovative method based on design thinking. The session was for students of the “Tourism for All” course of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Sant Ignasi (URL). The participants were international students from partner universities who are currently completing an academic semester at HTSI.
