URL, 6th-best university in Spain in terms of performance according to CYD ranking



Ramon Llull University (URL), which includes the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Sant Ignasi, has been named the 6th-best university in Spain and the 4th-best in Catalonia in terms of performance. This is according to the annual ranking by the Conocimiento y Desarrollo Foundation (CYD).

URL, which has advanced two positions since the last edition, is the best private university in Catalonia and the 2nd-best in Spain. This puts the URL in the top 10 of Spanish universities.

In preparing this ranking, 76 higher education institutions (94% of the Spanish university system) were evaluated. The ranking is based on 37 indicators grouped into 6 dimensions: Teaching and Learning, Research, Transfer of Knowledge, International Orientation, Contribution to Regional Development, and Job Placement. The latter is a new category this year.

The URL achieved “high performance” (in other words, it was above the average for universities) in 24 indicators, with “medium performance” in 7 and “low performance” in 6. This means the URL has advanced 2 positions since the last edition, and is in the top 10 of Spanish universities.

In the International Orientation dimension, 6 out of 7 indicators were classified as “maximum performance”. This makes URL the 4th-best university in Spain in this area.

In Teaching and Learning, 6 out of 7 indicators were classified as “maximum performance”. In Research, URL achieved 5 out of 9. In Transfer of Knowledge, 5 of 8 indicators were also above average. Finally, in Contribution to Regional Development, 2 out of 4 dimensions were classified as “maximum performance”.
